Tracking Setup with Pinterest

This guide shows you how to connect FunnelFlux Pro with Pinterest for tracking.

Step 1: Add Pinterest as a Traffic Source

  1. Go to Traffic Sources > New
  2. Search for "Pinterest" in the template list
  3. Select the Pinterest template

The template sets up these tracking fields:

{campaignid}

c1

adgroup

{adgroupid}

c2

{adid}

c3

{creative_id}

c4

device

{device}

c5

product

{product_id}

c6

product_group

{product_partition_id}

Cost type: Cost Per Event/Click (no automatic cost token -- update costs manually if needed)

Step 2: Create Your Campaign URL

After creating the traffic source:

  1. Build a funnel in the Funnel Builder
  2. Click the traffic node and select Pinterest as the traffic source
  3. Copy the generated tracking link

Use this link as your destination URL in Pinterest. The URL already contains the tracking parameters. Pinterest replaces each token with real values when a user clicks your ad.

Step 3: Set Up Conversion Tracking

Check Pinterest's documentation for conversion tracking instructions. Then add the postback URL in the traffic source's Conversion Tracking tab in FunnelFlux.

Optional: Updating Costs

No cost token is available for this source. To update costs manually:

  1. Go to Update Costs in FunnelFlux
  2. Export cost data from Pinterest
  3. Match the data by campaign ID and relevant tracking fields
  4. Import the cost data
